<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Minerva Rios Guerra Garza, 64 of Albert Lea, MN passed away Friday, October 8<sup>th</sup>, 2021, at St Mary&rsquo;s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota surrounded by her family.</p> <p>Minerva was born to Jesus &amp; Isabel (Rios) Guerra on May 4, 1957, in Virginia, MN. She was raised in Albert Lea, MN later moved to La Pryor, TX, but her heart bought her back to Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota where she studied Office Administration working briefly for the State of Minnesota. Minerva had numerous employments, such as waitressing, field worker, The Salvation Army, DM Broadband, and helped assist the Local Migrant families with their relocation process, before retiring.</p> <p>Minerva was a loving mother who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart, they meant the world to her. She was a member of St Theodores Catholic Church, and an Eagles member. Those that knew Minerva, loved her beautiful smile that lite up the room, and she welcomed everyone with open arms.&nbsp; She was an excellent cook, of traditional Mexican foods, but known best for her homemade Tamales and Flour Tortillas!!!</p> <p>She enjoyed playing bingo/loteria with her family and friends. Her passion was listening to her Mexican music and always loved dancing, especially to her Tigres Del Norte. She also enjoyed traveling whether it was visiting family and sightseeing. Minerva was a very strong-willed person, who kept her faith, and always wanted the best for her family. She always went above and beyond, to help those in need, even if it was just a simple talk or hug, smile or a laugh.</p> <p>Minerva is survived by her husband, Miguel Garza; her children, Evaristo (Alma) Guerra, Norma (Daniel Ortiz) Guerra, Francisco Guerra; grandchildren, Adriana, Mario, Diego, Eva and Daniel Jr; siblings Maria (John Frisk) Guerra, Beatriz (Hector, Sr.) Olvera, Celia (Nicolas) Granados, Jesus (Sheila) Guerra Jr., Corina (Michael, Jr.) Cain, Graciela (Timothy) Gregory and Victor (Gail) Guerra and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p> <p>She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus H. Guerra and Isabel (Rios) Guerra Avelar, brother. Robert Guerra and Stepfather Jose Avelar Sr.</p> <p>Visitation 5:00 PM -7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Bonnerup Funeral Home, Albert Lea, MN. Memorial Mass 11 AM, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea, MN with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Burial will be at St. Theodore Cemetery.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Minerva Rios Guerra Garza, 64 of Albert Lea, MN passed away Friday, October 8th, 2021, at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota surrounded by her family.

Minerva was born to Jesus & Isabel (Rios) Guerra on May 4, 1957, in Virginia, MN. She was raised in Albert Lea, MN later moved to La Pryor, TX, but her heart bought her back to Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota where she studied Office Administration working briefly for the State of Minnesota. Minerva was a loving mother who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart, they meant the world to her. She was a member of St Theodores Catholic Church, and an Eagles member. Those that knew Minerva, loved her beautiful smile that lite up the room, and she welcomed everyone with open arms.  She was an excellent cook, of traditional Mexican foods, but known best for her homemade Tamales and Flour Tortillas!!!

She enjoyed playing bingo/loteria with her family and friends. Her passion was listening to her Mexican music and always loved dancing, especially to her Tigres Del Norte. She also enjoyed traveling whether it was visiting family and sightseeing. Minerva was a very strong-willed person, who kept her faith, and always wanted the best for her family. She always went above and beyond, to help those in need, even if it was just a simple talk or hug, smile or a laugh.

Visitation 5:00 PM -7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Bonnerup Funeral Home, Albert Lea, MN. Memorial Mass 11 AM, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea, MN with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Burial will be at St. Theodore Cemetery.
