Janice Marie Brainard Belk went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 8th, 2021, at the age of 89. Janice was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana). Janice attended the Missionary Training Institute in Nyack, New York, where she earned a degree in missions. She served as secretary to the Birmingham Gospel Tabernacle, Taught
Kindergarten at Alliance Christian School, and later opened her own daycare.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Floretta Brainard, and five siblings, Charlotte Vivian Brainard Barron, Shirley Brainard Whitney, Harold Warren Brainard Jr., Willard H. Brainard, and Alan Lee Brainard, as well as several nieces and nephews. 
Janice is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert E. Belk (Bob) of Hoover, daughter Robin Belk of Fultondale, son Randall (Lisa) of Huntsville, and granddaughter Ashley Morgan (Benjamin) of Chicago.
Janice was a member of First Baptist Church, Hoover. She enjoyed singing in the choir and other volunteer jobs at the church. Her main hobbies were crafts and sewing.
Funeral will be at First Baptist Church, Hoover, on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on Highway 150 in Hoover.
