<p>Uxbridge- Sheila&nbsp;M. (O&rsquo;Neill) Curran, 75, of Homeward Ave., passed away peacefully at her home on Fri. Oct. 8th surrounded by her loving family.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She is survived by her husband of 40 years,&nbsp;Joseph P. Curran;&nbsp;her 2 daughters, Mary Curran and her husband Donald Marini of Northbridge and Margaret Curran Olson and her husband Derek of Millbury; 2 granddaughters, Maeve and Rian Olson; 2 brothers, Terrance J.&nbsp;O&rsquo;Neill of Brookfield and William J. O&rsquo;Neill of Winchendon;&nbsp;&nbsp;nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Paula Curran and 3&nbsp;brothers, Thomas, Brian, and&nbsp;Michael O&rsquo;Neill.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Born in Milford, MA on April 14, 1946 she was the daughter of T. Vincent and Helen (Provost) O&rsquo;Neill and grew up in Milford. She was a graduate of Milford &nbsp;High School and Worcester State College, and earned her Master&rsquo;s Degree from Assumption College. She taught both Spanish and French at Milford High School for many years before taking a break to raise her girls. She returned to teaching at Medway High School, and was awarded Teacher of the Year before her retirement in 2008.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sheila has lived in Uxbridge the past 40 years.&nbsp;</p> <p>A woman of great faith, Sheila was a very involved&nbsp;member of St. Mary&rsquo;s Church. She served as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, was a member of their St. Vincent de Paul Society, Light of the World Group, and volunteered at the People First Food Pantry.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Sheila enjoyed being outdoors. She was naturally athletic, and enjoyed playing softball, skiing, sledding, and hitting the batting cage well into her 60&rsquo;s. She was a &ldquo;big kid at heart&rdquo; and loved to play with her children and their friends when they were growing up. Her favorite times were spent with her adoring family and her beloved grandchildren however. She will be always remembered for her soft, loving, kind nature, and her heart of gold.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Her funeral will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge&nbsp;on Wed. Oct. 13 with a Mass&nbsp;at 11 AM in St. Mary&rsquo;s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary&rsquo;s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home&nbsp;will be held on Tues. Oct. 12 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila&rsquo;s memory may be made to the: People First Food Pantry, 19 Douglas St., Uxbridge MA 01569,&nbsp;www.peoplefirstuxbridge.org. I attended milford high with sheila (class of 1964) enjoyed seeing her at the class reunions. She was one of the sweetest people i know. she was always very kind and caring. Rest in peace.
