WHITE Ruby (Mitch) August 22, 1934 – October 9, 2021 Mitch was born in Twillingate on August 22, 1934. She was one of 10 children. With fond memories and sad memories when her loved ones passed away. She moved to Buchans in 1955 to work at the staff house. There was three Ruby’s working with her. Mom’s maiden name was Mitchell, that’s how she got her name Mitch, as everyone called her. Shortly after she came to Buchans she met Austin and she fell in love and couldn’t wait to get married. They remained together until his passing on July 27, 2000. She loved the outdoors, moose hunting and shot her first moose. Also she loved bird hunting and picking berries. Along with her sister Joyce they picked berries in Twillingate and sold them here in Buchans. She found three best friends after returning to AM Guy Memorial Hospital. Her room mates who loved her dearly, they were her angels: Mrs. Perrier, Mrs. Roberts, and Mrs. Payne. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph & Jessie Mitchell; husband Austin White; brothers: Harry, Melvin, Gilbert, Eugene, Albert, Sydney (baby); sisters: Elsie, Ada, Wavey (baby); sister-in-law Shirley Mitchell; brother-in-law Frank Hamlyn and great grandson Jordan Hobbs. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Paula, Aileen; son Austin Jr. (Theresa); grandchildren: Crystal (Jody), Shane (Jane), Justin, Colin; great grandchildren: Melissa, Kyla, CJ; brother Calvin (Ethel); sisters: Louise (Junior), Joyce; sisters-in-law: Audrey, Jean as well as nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at The Salvation Army Church, Buchans on Monday October 11, 2021 from 10:00a.m.-9:00p.m, from where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 2:00p.m., officiated by Lieutenant April Ward with interment to follow at the Buchans Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donation in Ruby’s memory may be made to the family or The Salvation Army Church, Buchans.
