Darr Fred Sullivan, Jr.

<p>Darr Fred Sullivan Jr., age 80 of Pass Christian, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was a native of Denmark, South Carolina.&nbsp; Fred served in the United States Army for 23 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985.&nbsp; He entered service as an Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Division, eventually earning a commission as a Field Artillery Officer and Green Beret. During his career he distinguished himself by receiving the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with V Device and 2 Oakleaf Clusters, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Senior Parachutist Badge.&nbsp; Fred loved his family, his community, and his country with all his heart and always sought to help his fellow man.&nbsp; After entering the Army he earned Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Northwestern State University in Louisiana.</p> <p>&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Darr and Mary Sullivan of Moncks Corner, SC; mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Ross Graves of Slidell, LA; and his son, Randall Perry Sullivan of Pascagoula, MS.</p> <p>&nbsp;Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Grice Sullivan; his son and daughter in law, Fred and Kelly Sullivan of Diamondhead, MS and his grandsons Randy and Logan; his granddaughter Alexis Brumbaugh of Grand Junction, CO; his brother and sister in law, Buddy and Barbara Graves of Slidell, LA; his sister, Anne Graves Davis of Slidell, LA; his brother James Sullivan of Renton, WA; his sister Patricia Durlach of Suffolk, VA; his brother and sister in law, Michael and Roseann Sullivan of Six Mile, SC; his sister and brother in law, Darlene and William Younginer of Wilmington, NC; his sister in law, Judia Gulledge of Pascagoula, MS; his brother in law, Bobby Dale Grice of Virginia Beach, VA; his loving niece and goddaughter, Patricia Pieper Whatley and her husband Charley of Fairhope, AL; and many others who loved him and were a part of his life.</p> <p>&nbsp;Some of his pleasures in life were fishing, golf, tennis, gardening, and spending time with family.</p> <p>The family welcomes donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers. &ndash; https://lovetotherescue.org/</p> <p>A Memorial Ceremony will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS 39571, on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, Family 1:30 PM, Visitation 2:00 PM, Memorial Ceremony 4:00 PM.</p>
