Anna Lou
Anna Louise Ritchie, age 90, passed away Thursday, October 7th, 2021, at her home. A native of Vine Grove, KY she was born on April 4th, 1930, to the late William Earl and Lolah Maydaline Patterson Ritchie. She retired from nursing after many years working in the Louisville area as a registered nurse, after retirement she chose Berea, KY as her home, she loved her community and was a great supporter of the Berea Arts Council. Anna Lou loved the outdoors and was an avid environmentalist. She loved to the hike the Red River Gorge especially in the fall, her favorite time of the year. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin R. Vessels, three brothers and one sister. Anna Lou is survived by two children, Colleen Beal of Berea, KY, and James M. Vessels of Elizabethtown, KY, three brothers, Alfred Ritchie of Berea, KY, Ernie Ritchie of Baton Rouge, LA, and George Ritchie of Texas, two sisters, Mary Pinell of Baton Rouge, LA, and Francis Ritchie of Texas. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
