Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved May Tully. Left to mourn is her husband of 62 years, Ken; their children Sandra, Darlene (Paul), Rodney (Sharon); grandchildren Tiffany (Riley), Randy (Derica), Amber (Tommy), Stephan (Amber), Jessica (Daniel), Alisha; great Grandchildren Kayden, Skylar, Nova, Cam, Brynn and Roxzen; as well as many other family and friends.

May was born in Winnipeg where she attended school throughout her early years.  May was a true city girl until she met the Love of her Life Ken.  The two married and moved to the farm where they raised their family and May learned all about “farm life”.  She became a very skilled farm wife.  She enjoyed decorating cakes, knitting, singing hymns and playing the piano.  Ken and May never missed a beat when it came to their grandchildren. May would often be found teaching them about the piano, sitting in a cold rink cheering them on, or singing along at Christmas concerts (especially to her favorite carol - Silent Night). When it was time to retire, the two moved to Poplar Point.  The two became acquainted with the other senior citizens of the community and enjoyed playing shuffle board at the senior center. May happily followed along Ken on all of his adventures for as long as she could. May sadly became diagnosed with dementia and lived her last days at the Lions Prairie Manor. She was loved and cared for by many amazing staff, and Ken continued to visit her faithfully.

There will be a private family service to honor May, on Saturday, October 16th. Following the private family service, we invite you to join us at The Poplar Point Community Center grounds for a come and go Celebration of Life from 2pm-4pm. The Celebration of Life will be outdoors. As provincially mandated, covid rules and regulations will be in effect.  Respectfully, if you are not feeling well or not feeling suited to adhere to guidelines, we ask that you celebrate May in your own way another time.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Lions Prairie Manor as well as Ronald Moffit Memorial Services. If desired, donations may be made to Lions Prairie Manor of Portage la Prairie in honor of May.

Rest in Peace our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. We will always love you.
