On Sunday, October 3, 2021 Peter George Thackeray (Butch) passed away suddenly at age 75.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Penny, and his three children; Jennifer, Cameron (Sheri), and Jerine. He was a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren; Addison, Jordan, and Blake. He will also be mourned by his half brother Terry (Pam-children Stephanie and Michael).

Peter was born December 16, 1945 in Kendal, England where he attended school and became a licensed plumber. After working a few years, he decided to emigrate to Canada in 1969. He immediately made his way to Thompson and started with INCO.

Peter and Penny met in Thompson in 1972 and were married in 1973. They built their cabin at Setting Lake and started a family shortly after. Peter retired from INCO in 1999 and enjoyed spending time at Setting Lake in the summers and escaping from the cold to Spain in the winters.

Peter was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was happiest when spending time with his family and friends.

Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, July 2nd 2022 from 1:00 - 4:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion (Bar Side) in Thompson, Manitoba.
