Sharron L. Weatherhead

Sharron L. (Hug) Weatherhead, 69, of Newington, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Born in San Antonio, TX, daughter of the late John and Althea (Crowther) Hug, she was a longtime Newington resident. Sharron was a nature lover. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially her rescue dogs and feeding the squirrels. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves her son Tron Petersen and his wife Karen of Newington, and her two grandchildren, Willow and Jack. She also leaves her two sisters, Ria Vilorio of Georgia, and Donna Baily and her husband Bill of Oregon, her stepbrother John Wise and his wife Marilyn of Georgia, and stepsister Jackie Martin and her husband Max of Texas, several nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Oct. 14th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington immediately followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org.
