Carole M. Holsinger

Carole M. Holsinger, 92, passed away on October 7, 2021 at the Danbury of Massillon. She was born on December 26, 1928 in Joliet, IL to the late Fred and Celia (Freis) Wilhelmi. She graduated from St. Francis High School as well as St. Francis College in Joliet, Illinois where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. Carole could be described as a true matriarch of her family. She absolutely loved hosting all events, holidays and special occasions at her home and when her family took their yearly fishing trips, she always designated the kitchen as her own. She was very proud to be a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Canton where she volunteered her time with the bereavement committee for funeral luncheons. In addition to her dedication to the church, Carole also served as president in 1987 for the Timken Mercy Service League, was a part of many book clubs and garden clubs and was a member of Brookside County Club where she was a part of their golf and tennis leagues. Carole was also an avid crossword solver. She will be deeply missed by her children Fred (Debra) Holsinger, Tom (Diana) Holsinger, Joan (Rich) Dobryden, Jean (Greg) Beaucage, Barbara (Bill) Ungashick and John (Judy) Holsinger; 8 grandchildren who were the light of her life and 5 great-grandchildren that she adored. Carole was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, John “Bill” Holsinger and her 6 siblings. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 12th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon and entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Danbury and to Elara Hospice for their care and compassion.
