H.A. Wellman

Henry "H.A." Alex Wellman, 85, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away October 7, 2021, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on February 1, 1936, in Carryville, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Thurman and Ruby Lee (Madison) Wellman. H.A. was united in marriage to Janet Vancil on October 23, 1957, and to this union three children were born. He farmed for over 55 years and enjoyed the lay of the land. He loved watching his crops grow and spent many hours in the field watering his crops. H.A. loved his family and showed his love by taking care of and providing for their needs. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Douglas and George Wellman. H.A. is survived by his wife Janet Wellman of Piggott, Arkansas; three children, Brent Alex Wellman and wife Marilyn of Greenway, Arkansas, Jon Phillip Wellman and wife Valerie of Piggott, Arkansas, and Sara Alicia Wellman and Kevin Millikin of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jacob Wellman, Brandon Wellman, Jacy Featherston, and Sawyer Featherston; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, Arkansas, with a service following at 10:00 a.m. with Jerry Morgan officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
