Mary Grieger, 88, of Valley City, died on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

   Mary Helen Holt was born on August 2, 1933 in Calvin, ND to Alexander and Jessie (Harmer) Holt.  She was raised and educated in the Calvin area, graduating from Calvin High School.  Following high school, she attended and graduated from Interstate Business College (Fargo, ND) and worked at Reed Cleaners in Fargo.

   She married Clarence Grieger on May 18, 1957 in Fargo, ND.  They made their home near Tower City, ND.  Farming and family occupied Mary’s life.  Mary resided at Legacy Place in her later days.  Mary was a hardworking, caring woman that would help anyone.  She had a wonderful memory of the past and loved sharing it with family and friends.  Her passion for couponing kept her very busy in her later years.  But for those that knew her, Mary was the #1 Bison fan at Legacy Place.  Go Bison!

   She is survived by three children, David Grieger of Valley City, Darlene (Scott) Smith of Fargo, Debbie (Gary) Baasch of Oriska, ND; five grandchildren, Brittany, Nicole, Harlie, Tim, and Cassie; six great-granchildren, Zane, Desray, Korbyn, Allana, Declan, and Tessa; and two sisters, Jessie DeJarlais, Minneapolis, MN, and Colleen Hamernik, Ulen, MN.

   She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; three children, Delores, Donna, and Danny; and three sisters, Evelyn Boldt, Margaret Smith, and Catherine Syverson.

 

   Visitation: Monday, October 11, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

   Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

   Burial: Casselton Cemetery - Casselton, North Dakota.
