Mark Francis Seib Cumberland, Maryland Obituary

Mark Francis Seib

Cumberland, MD – Mark Francis Seib, 60, died Wednesday October 6, 2021 in Cumberland, Maryland. He was a dedicated husband, father, and most importantly, grandfather. Mark was born on a military base in Japan on January 9, 1961 (“It’s already my birthday” is what he would say, EVERY YEAR on January 8) to Bernard and Bernadette Seib. After graduating Beall High School and Vo-Tech in 1979, Mark met and married the love of his life, Stephanie in 1980, and had two daughters, Michele and Melissa Seib. Mark was an amazing superhero family man who survived in a house full of women until 2008 when his grandson, Vincent, was born. Vincent was the light of Mark’s life and his best friend. Vincent and Mark did just about everything together, including vacations, videogames and “surviving the women.” Mark was a career machinist for Atkinson Welding, a jack of all trades handyman, and the guy who would show up when you needed him the most (or even when you didn’t) to show support, or just help with a task. He was also retired from the U.S. Navy. He loved to spend time fly fishing and in the outdoors in his free time (which he would say he never had!). Mark had quite a sense of humor and his chuckles will be forever embedded in the minds of everyone he knew. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Bernadette (Ricker) Seib, and a brother, Michael Seib. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Stephanie, his daughters Michele and Melissa, his son-in-law, Doug Roberts, and grandson, Vincent Largent. He is also survived by his siblings, Chris (Karen) Seib, Anita McCoy, and Gary (Lisa) Seib as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family requests that anyone who wishes to remember him do so through a donation to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology https://secure.jhu.edu/form/peds, or Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer https://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/2753219. Both organizations were very special to Mark and to his family as his grandson is a pediatric cancer survivor. “Only the good die young” – Billy Joel
