Jane Stewart French Obituary

Jane Stewart French, 91, wife of the late J. Donald French and a resident of Greenbackville, VA, formerly of Rockville, MD, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home. Born and raised in Pleasantville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Virginia Rieck.

Following high school, Jane attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. She worked as a health aide for Montgomery County Public Schools for many years. Jane loved the Christmas season, and especially looked forward to adding to her collection of ornaments. She adored her family, all of whom will greatly miss her.

Survivors include her children, Helen A. Rudder (Michael) of Assawoman, VA, Allan J. French (Marylou) of Gaithersburg, MD, and Carol L. French-Quattrin (Dale) of Sodus, MI; grandchildren, Lauren (Marshall), M. Andrew (Randy), Cassandra, Caleb, Cianna, Brian, Daniel (Gisela), Scott, and Sarah; granddaughter-in-law, Nell; nephew, Lyle (Mindy); and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Aaron and her sister, Virginia “Ginny” Alexander and brother-in-law, Mark.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
