MITCH SHEPARD, 64, of Morrison, IL, died October 8, 2021, in his home with his loved ones by his side. A private family service will be held at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral home, officiated by his son-in-law, Zach Taylor. A public visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Twp. Cemetery. Mitch was born in El Paso, TX, to Stanley and Rose Shepard. He attended both Erie, IL, and Fulton, IL, schools. Following his junior year of high school he joined the United States Navy during Vietnam, serving onboard the USS Canisteo. After separating from the USN, Mitch volunteered at the Albany Fire Department for 8 years and worked at LyondellBasell for 42 years, retiring in 2020. On August 30, 1980 he married Peggy Reynolds; she passed away on August 29, 2012. Later, on September 18, 2015, he married Roxanne Dalaguit. Mitch fought a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing table tennis, golfing and bowling. Mitch was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Mitch is survived by his wife, Roxanne Shepard of Morrison, IL; his children, Kristie (Zachary) Taylor of Fulton, IL, and Nathan (Emily) Shepard of Rochelle, IL; his grandchildren, Aiden Taylor, Isaac Taylor, Ein Taylor of Fulton, IL, and Austin Shepard, Brooklyn Shepard of Rochelle, IL; his brothers Mike (Rose) Shepard of Lebanon, MO, Mark (Patti) Shepard of Fulton, IL, Matt Shepard of Rio Rancho, NM, Bill (Chris) Clark of Albany, IL, and Jeff (April) Clark of Clinton, IA; his nieces Serena (Richard) Okray of Omro, WI, Heidi (Nick) King of Viroqua, WI, Lacey (Matt) Tegeler of Morrison, IL, Karissa Shepard of Fulton, IL, Katelyn Shepard of Fulton, IL, Sherrie (Scott) Schlotfeldt of Tavares, FL, Sheena Wendler of Minneola, FL, Rhianna Clark of Clinton, IA, Madi Adkins of Clinton, IA; his nephews Ryan (Kelly) Abbott of Kemah, TX, Justin (Angela) Shepard of Bettendorf, IA, Michael (Celina) Shepard of Clinton, IA, Aiden Adkins of Clinton, IA; many cousins, aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews. Mitch was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy; his father, Stanley and his mother, Rose; his stepfather William, and his grandparents.
