Susan Mary DeVizio Obituary

Susan DeVizio (Paulson), age 64, a former Bloomfield and West Orange resident, passed away on December12, 2020 at Sky Ridge Hospital in Aurora, CO. As per her final wishes, Susan has been cremated. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Paul Ippolito – Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service to be held in the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. The family has requested that all guest regardless of vaccination status wear their mask while in the funeral home. Born April 17, 1956, in Orange, NJ to parents Benjamin and Rose Marie DeVizio, Susan grew up in West Orange, and attended Washington Elementary School, Edison Junior High School, and graduated in 1974 from Mountain High School. Soon after graduation, Susan began her banking career with Midlantic National Bank as Branch Manager. She moved on to Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark NJ as Office Manager and Vice President, where she remained for seventeen years until it closed. In October 2004, she became employed by Enterprise Bank in Kenilworth, N.J., serving as Vice President and Operations Manager until her retirement in October 2016. Growing up, Susan participated in many activities such as Brownies, Girl Scouts, Lillian Dean dance classes and recitals, as well as leading roles in school plays such as the Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. As an adult, Susan was an avid book reader and very much enjoyed travel with family and friends. Some of her favorite vacation places included Long Beach Island (LBI), NJ; Disney World, FL – Epcot and Animal Kingdom; San Francisco, CA; Acadia National Park / Bar Harbor, ME; Maui, HI; and Montreal Quebec, Canada. Susan was also a lifelong sports fan; her favorite teams were the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. After residing in Bloomfield, NJ for most of her adult life, she moved to Aurora, CO in 2018 with her partner of sixteen years, Jason Paulson, whom she married in 2019. Susan was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her beloved dog Sneaker. The family asks that you continue to include Susan in your fond memories of her and in your prayers. Susan is survived by her spouse Jason Paulson of Aurora, CO; her stepson Sam Ptak of Greeley, CO; her sister Deborah DeVizio of Windsor, CT; her brother Benjamin (and sister-in-law Hilda) DeVizio of Easton, PA; and nieces Megan DeVizio of Carteret, NJ and Kristen DeVizio of Wayne, NJ.
