Wanda Jean Rodgers of Jackson, Michigan passed away at the Highland Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility on October 4, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born in her grandmother’s house in Beckemeyer, Illinois on November 1, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Lillian (Midyett) Gibson. Wanda retired from Kelsey Hayes in 1988 after 40 + years of service. She had a very competitive streak in all games she loved to play, including bingo, cards, and many others. Wanda was feisty and if she didn't like something she let you know it, including her displeasure when she didn’t win one of the games. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, Fred Rodgers; children, Rebecca Olcott and Dick Sanford; siblings, Peggy Butterfield, Lucille Webster and Bill Gibson; and four grandchildren. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Bonnie (Derek) Haldeman, Deena Bowers, Jerry (Ramona) Moll, and Bill (Tammy) Rodgers; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; sibling Bob (Alice) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service may be held at a later date. Per Wanda’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Heart to Heart Hospice.
