Just five hours short of her 83 rd birthday Emma Lou Bryant Killgore Duncan went home to her
heavenly Father. She was born October 6, 1938 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to her parents, William
Bryant and LaRue Lena Goldsmith Harrell. Emma was raised in and around Chickasha and
Marlow, Oklahoma. On June 5, 1955 she married James Alfred Killgore and they had two
daughters: Elizabeth Ann Killgore Revuelta and Barbara Kay Killgore Dolan. “Liz” is married
to Manuel Revuelta and resides in San Louis Potosi, Mexico. They have two sons, Jason Manuel
Revuelta of Atlanta, Georgia and Brandon Eduardo Revuelta and his wife Claudia of San Diego,
California. Brandon and Claudia have two children, Paolo and Ines. Barbara is married to
Jimmy Doyle Dolan and resides in Prosper, Texas. They have two children, Marcus Doyle
Dolan of Lubbock, Texas and Amanda Casey Dolan Gilliam and her husband, Joshua Gilliam of
Frisco, Texas. Casey and Josh have three children: Aiden Kither, Quinn Emmarie (both of her
great-grandmothers’ namesakes) and Noah Robert.
After marrying, James and Emma moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where they resided until 1966
when they then moved to McCamey, Texas. They were long-term McCamey residents, both
working and volunteered in community and school functions. In 1974, Emma started work at
McCamey Security State Bank. She was there for over thirty happy years working with her
coworkers and the public. James died February 1987 and on March 2, 1990 Emma married her
second love, Melvin “Slick” C. Duncan also of McCamey. They continued to live in McCamey
until they moved to San Angelo in 2008. After Slick’s passing in 2014, Emma moved to North
Texas to be close to family. She lived for a couple of years initially in Frisco and later in
McKinney. In February 2021, she moved back to Frisco to live at The Cottages of Chapel
Creek, an assisted memory care facility.
Emma was a high-spirited woman that loved life and loved to be around people. She was a kind,
caring and fun-loving social butterfly. Her favorite things in life were to be surrounded by her
family and friends, play Bridge and make jeweled Christmas balls. She was a fabulous
seamstress and for 17 plus years she lovingly and happily made all of Liz and Barbara’s clothes:
shorts/pants, tops/jackets, skirts, bathing suits, formal dresses; you name it and she made it.
Emma was loved by many and will be missed by many.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Revuelta, Jason Revuelta, Brandon Revuelta, Jimmy
Dolan, Marcus Dolan and Josh Gilliam.
