Elizabeth Ann "Lisa" Wiegand

Elizabeth Ann (Lisa) Wiegand, 62, passed away on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident. On the day of the accident, Tom and Lisa were traveling home from their cabin on the river after a day of enjoying nature and bicycling, two of Lisa’s favorite things to do. Lisa was born March 8th, 1959 in Weirton, WV to Andrew and Ethel Lengyel. She was the seventh born of eight children: John (Connie) Lengyel of Lake Elmo, MN, Molly Paris (deceased) of Portland, OR, Margaret (Terry) Olbrysh of New Philadelphia, OH, Andrea (Louie) Settimio of Dover, OH, Judy (Stan) Clegg of New Philadelphia, OH, Phil (Rose) Lengyel of Bolivar, OH and Felicia (Dan) Wassum of Denver, CO. She is survived by her husband Tom Wiegand of Dover, OH, their daughter Rachel of Akron, Ohio, and their son Andrew Wiegand of Dover, Ohio. Lisa and Tom were married for 37 years, and he was the love of her life. She created a home and a family that brought her tremendous joy. Her children were the center of her world. Lisa graduated from Dover High School in 1977. She then attended Columbus Technical Institute where she graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She spent most of her career working at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH, and later as a clinical instructor for Stark State College in the Respiratory Therapy Program. Lisa loved to help others and volunteered with CAMO (Central American Medical Outreach) program, the local Hospice store (Browse and Buy), and was a soup kitchen team leader at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, OH where she was a member. Lisa was a very social person. She loved playing cards and bunco regularly with siblings and friends. She took up watercolor painting and playing guitar, both of which were self-taught. She loved music, dancing, and making other people laugh. She loved to travel, visiting various State and National Parks along the way. She lived her life with gratitude, kindness, and generosity. Lisa enjoyed the little things in life and was content to find a spot in the shade and read a book. She was always rooting for the underdog and was fiercely protective of those she loved. Lisa was unaware of how much she affected other people's lives and the enormous impact her actions had on those around her. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave, Dover, Ohio 44622 on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. A funeral reception will take place at the St. Joseph Family Life Center, which is direct across the street from the church. To sign an online guestbook for Lisa, visit the obituary link on the funeral home's website. Donations may be in Lisa’s honor to St Joseph's Catholic Church, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave, Dover, Ohio 44622.
