Mark was born in a pioneer family that homesteaded on what would be Sweeney Rd in Maple Valley, in 1885; Nils Petter Lagesson and Lorentina Nilsson, from Gotland, Sweden. His mother, Lois Knadle, and father Howard Clapper moved to a new home on homestead land in 1963. Mark, from then on, lived on or near the homestead. He was a collector; a saw mill, heavy machinery, logging equipment. Mark logged on the homestead and milled timber. He was a truck driver, mechanic, builder and lover of karaoke. Mark is survived by his mother, Lois Clapper, daughter Erica (Aaron) Slatt, two grandchildren, Madelyn and Charlie Slatt, stepdaughters Tara and Tina, siblings Bill Clapper and Laura Capili and families. Predeceased by father, O. Howard Clapper, ex-wife Sherry Triplett and wife Gwen Meyers. A memorial will be held in the spring, due to Covid concerns.
