Exequiel "Jun" Leynes Obituary

Exequiel "Jun" Leynes passed away at the Jersey City Medical Center on October 7, 2021. He was 74. Jun was a husband, father, grandfather, big brother, cousin, uncle and friend to many. Born in the Philippines, he came to the U.S. in the late 70’s, settling in Jersey City, although loved to travel back home to the Philippines. Jun was known for his sense of humor and very caring & giving nature. He was a jack of all trades and had many interests, such as math, accounting, cooking and bowling to name a few. He also once scored a perfect 300 point game in bowling. Jun is survived by his wife, Connie, daughter Elaine, son-in-law Phil & grandchildren Isabella and Ignatius, daughter Kristen, son-in-law Linh & grandson Nathaniel. He is also survived by his loving siblings Carmelo, Carmelita, Alicia, Ruel & Lilibeth and many cousins, nieces & nephews who all loved him dearly. Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4-8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Nicholas R.C. Church on Tuesday morning at 11 AM. The immediate family will continue onto the crematory for a private blessing at Rosehill Crematory, Linden.
