Leon Jefferson Sr., age 84, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in New Orleans, LA., on August 23, 1937.  He was a faithful member of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Church, and a United States Navy Veteran. He also was a foreman at Owen Illinois Company, and an employee at Tulane Hospital for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Jefferson; parents, Andrew Jefferson Sr., and Henrietta Jefferson; sister, Yvonne Watson; 2 brothers, William Jefferson, and Andrew Jefferson Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Shelia (Terrell) Jean; 2 sons, Leon (Mary) Jefferson Jr., and Cornell (Sherreta) Jefferson; 2 sisters, Elaine Jefferson, and Yvette Burns; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Church, 3037 Dauphine St., NOLA, 70117, at 11:00AM.  Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of service.  Father Jose I. Lavasitida officiating.  Interment private.
