Belmont, North Carolina Nina Dean Tarte, 82, passed away on October 6, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical center. A native of Gastonia, she was daughter of the late Sidney and Essie Garret Dean. Nina was a former member of New Hope Church of God and a current member of Refuge Church.She along with her husband belonged to the Gad Abouts and Young at Heart, enjoyed the water and boating, as well as camping and traveling the world. Nina was known to many as "The Prayer Warrior". She was a member of the Woodsman of The World and Gastonia Extension Homemakers. She worked with Threads, Western Auto and retired from the US Postal Service. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am Monday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 11:00am in Founders Chapel with Rev. Lamar Creel officiating. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park. Survivors include her son Robert Tarte, Jr.(Felicia); daughter Teresa Tarte Duncan; grandchildren, Rebecca Taylor(Rob), Robert Gene Tarte, III(Ali), Sydney Hartley(Caleb), and Corey Duncan; great grandchildren, Austin, Drew, and Zachary Taylor; Gracie, Wyatt, and Everlee Tarte; sisters, Blanche Dean(Allan), Shirley Dean, and Janie D. Bryant; nephews Michael Dean(Ashley), Jeffery Dean(Kris), and JimmyBryant(Coleen). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gene Tarte; son-in-law Steve Duncan, and brother-in-law James Harry Bryant.
