Sarah Ruth Zullo Obituary

Sarah Ruth (Casciano) Zullo, 44, of Gaithersburg, Maryland was called home to the Lord on October 5, 2021. She leaves behind her husband of 18 years, Stephen Thomas, and children, Benjamin Michael and Olivia Grace. Daughter of John and Roxanne Casciano, Sarah is also survived by her sister Melissa Majewski and her husband Alex, her brother John Casciano and his wife Crystal, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A 1998 graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, she also earned her masters degree in International Affairs from George Washington University in 2000. Professionally, Sarah worked in Public Affairs for the U.S. Army at the Pentagon in Washington, DC and more recently as a consultant for D. Stafford & Associates; however, she was most proud of her role as a wife and mother and devoted her life to raising her children.

Sarah also enjoyed interior design and decorating. She loved breathing new life into old, forgotten items and translated this interest into a business as the co-owner of Sweet Clover Barn, a collective of home decor vendors and vintage resellers. The motto of Sweet Clover during her time as co-owner was “No Rules, Just Passion.”

Sarah was known for always being prepared. She’d often ask “What’s the plan?” In our grief it is hard to understand God’s plan in taking Sarah from us, but we know for certain her legacy is one of absolute devotion and unending love. Her radiant smile will never be forgotten; she is forever our sunshine.

Tributes to Sarah’s love of family and children can be made at the St. Jude Children’s Hospital website.
