Julia Schneider Slade, born August 2,1938, in Iota, Louisiana passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Julia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel B. Slade and daughter Pamela Slade. She is survived by her children; David Slade and his wife, Diana, Rhonda Lastovica and her husband, Gary, Tammy Russell and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Stacey Lastovica, Stephanie Self and her husband, Sean, Paul Russell Jr., Matthew Slade and his wife, Krystle, Lauren Russell, John Lastovica and his wife, Preslie, and Shelby Slade; great-grandchildren, Clara and Julie Self; sister, Clara Smith of Oberlin, Louisiana, Kaye Slade, and many nieces and nephews. Julia grew up in Eunice, Louisiana, married her beloved Daniel and eventually moved to Houston, Texas where she and Daniel raised their family. She was an active member and ever-present volunteer at St. Theresa Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas- Court Ave Maria #2001, Women’s Club and Alter Society. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with family, visiting with friends, praying the rosary, staying active, and being with her beloved pet companion, Lady. Julia was a very loved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and special friend to many. We will miss her every day. A visitation with the family will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St. in Houston, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 also at St. Theresa Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow 12:00 noon at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Paul Russell Jr., Matthew Slade, John Lastovica, Randy Schneider, George Schneider, Joey Schneider, and Sean Self.
