James J. Connolly, Sr., 70, of Manville, died September 18, 2021 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Lucille A. (Lacombe) Connolly, to whom he was married 27 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Joseph A. Connolly, Jr., and Marguerite Margaret (Kuntz) Connolly. James was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was an equipment operator for the Town of Lincoln - Highway Department for 33 years, retiring in 2013. James was a lifelong member of Sayles Hill Rod Gun Club, a 30 year member of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks, and was a former member of the Manville Sportsman and Albion Social Clubs. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Besides his wife, Lucille, he leaves his children, Shelley Connolly of Maine, Heather Bergeron and her husband, Brian, of North Smithfield, James Connolly and his wife, Jaime, of Richmond, and Kristy Gorman of North Smithfield; his stepchildren, Stefanie Carone and her husband, Kyle, of Ohio, and George Nuttall; his sister, Kathleen Connolly; and seven grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 5-11 PM in the Sayles Hill Rod Gun Club, 71 Sayles Hill Road, North Smithfield, RI 02896.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
