LEESBURG, FL – David A. Mallette, age 85, of Leesburg, Florida, and former Marquette area resident, passed away August 11, 2021, in Leesburg, Florida. He was born April 18, 1936, in Marquette, the only child of Alfred and Bertha (Tousignant) Mallette and resided in Marquette most of his life. He attended St. Michael Grade School and John D. Pierce High School where he graduated in 1954. He also attended Northern Michigan University. David served in the US Army Medical Corps for three years and was later employed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base as a Federal Civil Service employee for over 35 years, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, being out in nature, hiking in the Marquette area, taking photos, and collecting campaign buttons. David was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery on Monday, October 11, at 10:00 am.
