Antoinette (Farina) Sorce, 96

Antoinette Sorce, age 96, passed away on October 7, 2021. She was born in Newark, NJ and moved to Belleville in 1953, where she raised her family and lived until moving to Nutley in 2003.

She was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Gerardina (Freda) Farina, and was predeceased by her sisters, Marie and Teresa Farina, her brother, Rocco Farina, and her husband, Anthony Sorce.

Antoinette is survived by her children, Annemarie Carollo and husband Michael, Susan Monfet and husband Gregg, and Jerry Sorce. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Carollo, Laura Carollo (husband Ross Nover), Grace Boivin (husband Jeff), Christopher Monfet (wife Joey Kaiser), Anthony Monfet, Matthew Monfet (wife Tiffany Mo) and Daniel Monfet (wife Jenna).

Antoinette was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Kailey Monfet, Elizabeth Carollo, Olivia Monfet, Shane Monfet, Thea Monfet, Lila Boivin, Harper Monfet, David Boivin, and Hadley Monfet.

Antoinette worked as a bookkeeper but was a homemaker most of her life. She was an avid reader, enjoyed challenging crossword puzzles. She was smart and witty and even computer savvy right up to the end.

The funeral will be Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 9:00am, from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The funeral Mass will be offered at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street, Belleville, NJ at 10:00am.

The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 4-7pm.
