Herlinda (Laroche) Labrecque, 72 of Arcadia Rd, Hope Valley, RI , died peacefully on Monday October 4, 2021 at her home.  She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Labrecque.

Born in Humaco Puerto Rico on August 24, 1949 she was the daughter of Gloria (Bertran) Laroche of Florida and the late Andrew Laroche.

Herlinda was a graduate of Rhode Island College with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. She was a long time employee of Women and Infants and Westerly hospitals. She was an officer in the Providence County Kennel Club for many years and an enthusiastic member of the Narragansett Bay Quilters' Association. Herlinda was renowned for her culinary skills and the artistry she demonstrated when decorating wedding cakes. She was recognized by the Rhode Island Department of Children and their Families for the loving care she gave her foster children.

Besides her loving and devoted husband she will be sadly missed by her children, Delvina, Maegan and Marc.  She was the loving grandmother of Jarrod, Jacob and Clark.  She also leaves her sister Rosa Laroche and her brother, Joseph Freire.

The Labrecque family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday October 13, 2021 from 2- 4 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home.

A fellowship will follow at Chelo’s Bar and Grill on 2225 Post Rd, Warwick from 5-7 pm.
