Ann F. Lane
Ann F. (Barrett) Lane, 85 of Gloucester, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home by the Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2017, following a brief illness. Ann was the daughter of the late John and Celeste Barrett of Gloucester, MA. Ann grew up in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School and continued her education attending Fisher Junior College. Ann became a bookkeeper starting her career at National House Furnishing Company in Gloucester; and upon their closing Ann became employed at Mighty-Mac in Gloucester. Most recently Ann worked at Pathways for Children as a bookkeeper and was employed for over 20 years retiring in 2014. She enjoyed the holidays and always gave Christmas gifts to her fellow employees at Pathways. Ann enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. Her love of reading, especially Civil War history kept her engaged with America's past. She was extremely thoughtful and generous donating to numerous local and religious charitable organizations. Ann was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son Robert Lane and his wife Sally of Ipswich, her daughter Theresa Folse and her husband Philip of Gloucester, grandchildren David Adams, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Goodyear, AZ, Wesley Adams of Rockport, Christopher Lane and his wife Erin of Ipswich, Matthew Lane and his wife Nicole of Greenland, NH, great-grandchildren Logan Adams, Barrett Lane, Aubrey Lane and Ryan Lane. Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. followed by her Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Prospect St. at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.Flowers are graciously accepted, but please omit lilies from the arrangements.
