KENT, George Alexander ‘Sandy”-age 83 of Stewiacke passed away October 5, 2021 in Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Scotsburn, he was a son of the late Robert and Annie ‘Mabel” (Gibbon) Kent. Sandy was a well-respected dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Stewiacke. He was knowledgeable about all back roads of Nova Scotia and knew the Stewiacke River like the back of his hand, He enjoyed trapping and fishing along the river most of his life. He always had a story to tell, enjoyed playing cards and camping. He and Sandra spent their summers travelling around to Bluegrass Festivals after he retired from farming. He will be sadly missed by his children, Lisa, Michael (Andrea), Patricia, Amanda and Tracey (Mark); grandchildren, Aimee, Nicole, Mary, Samantha, Alex, Julia, Sarah, Emily, Jake and Wendel; sisters, Margaret Lough and Helen (Stan) Buell; brother, Gordon (Sue), numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Sandra (Currie); sons in law, Jeremy and Richard. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, October 12th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. COVID-19 regulations are to be adhered to. Masks are required and proof of vaccination will be required to attend the funeral. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Elk Court for their compassionate care of Sandy during his stay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
