Lillian was born July 17, 1928 on the Kovash farm in Dunn County, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Kostelecky) Kovash. Lillian grew up in the New Hradec area and attended Saint Peter and Paul grade school and graduated from Model High in Dickinson. She said that she met the sweetest boy, Alfred Sadowsky, at Model High and they were married at St. Patrick’s Church in Dickinson on October 12, 1949. Lillian and Alfred were blessed with six children; Timothy, Jonathan, Ann, Patricia, Mark, and Mary. Alfred and Lillian raised their family on the family farm northeast of New Hradec. Lillian enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, and cooking many meals for her family. Lillian’s specialty was homemade chicken noodle soup made with homemade noodles, poppy seed kolaches, and rholiky. Lulu was an excellent seamstress and patched many pairs of work jeans and coveralls for her family. Lillian enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and sewing during her spare time. Mom said that the best time of her life was living on the farm with her husband and children. Lillian moved into Dickinson in 2004 and has lived at Evergreen since May 2018. Lillian was blessed to spend her last weeks with family and even made one last visit to the farm where the family got to enjoy her witty responses one more time. She especially enjoyed her Friday coffee time with her sister, Marietta, and treasured her visits with her brother, Laudie. Lillian was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church in New Hradec, Saint Patrick’s Church in Dickinson and the Rosary Society. Lillian’s family wishes to extend a special ‘Thank you’ to Darla and her staff at the Evergreen for the amazing care and love shared with Mom for the last 3 ½ years. Finally, the family wants to thank Mom for teaching us about Jesus Christ and sharing her deep faith in Jesus with us. Lillian is survived by her sons, Tim (Patricia) of Bowman, Jonathan of Dickinson; daughters, Ann and Mary Sadowsky of Dickinson, Patricia (James) Metzger of Cumming, GA; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Marietta Davis of Dickinson; brother, Laudie Kovash of Bozeman, MT.
