Fraser, Eva Helen (Brown) – Age 96, Truro. It is with heavy hearts that on Sunday, October 3, 2021, we bid farewell to our beloved mother, Eva Helen (Brown) Fraser. A lifelong resident of Truro, she was born June 1, 1925, the only child of the late Ruby (MacPhee) and Sandy (C.A.) Brown. She was married to her childhood sweetheart and soulmate, Alex G. Fraser (1925-2003) for 57 years. Eva was a hair dresser in her younger years. She enjoyed travelling, reading and playing weekly bridge. Eva truly loved people and if she met you, then to her you were a friend for life. She dedicated her life to her family and even as memories faded, Eva always enjoyed a good laugh and stayed focused on her family. She leaves wonderful memories of her love and laughter to her five children, Sandra (George) Connell, Bob (Brenda) Fraser, Don Fraser, Kathy (Bruce) Wilby and Linda (Mark) Ward; her thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are her two nieces and four nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson in infancy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Ned Fowler, Helen and Ross Barclay and many good friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Fergus Hall, Mom’s Parkland family for easing her final journey with kindness, care, patience and humour. We are so grateful. Also, thank you to Dianne, Peggy, Gwen and Brenda – true friends to the end. Mom appreciated and loved all of you. If so desired, a donation to the Alzheimer Society in Eva’s memory would be gratefully received. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery at a later date.
