Icy Alberta Babb, 79 of Arkansas City died Friday, October 1, 2021 in St. Louis, MO. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2021 at the West Kansas Church of God in Arkansas City. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Icy Alberta Babb was born July 15, 1942 to Enoch and Florene Dow. She was raised in Fairview, OK. She worked for the packing house in Ark City in the 60s, then moved to Louisiana and lived there for 13 years. After that, she moved back to Ark City and worked for GE until retirement in 2008. She and Jimmy Babb were united in marriage in August 1993 and they made their home in Texas and Ark City. Alberta was a very loving person who would help anyone who needed it. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Babb of the home; Monty Potter of Ark City; daughter Amanda Godfrey and husband Buddy of Haslett, TX; sister Bonnie Leger and husband Larry of Sunset, LA; brothers Kenny Dow of Ark City and Fay Dow and wife Delilah; sister in law Ada Dow of Newkirk, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren Summer Potter, Zack Potter and wife Jennifer, Ashley Simmons, Lindsey Alley, Brittany Reece, Keshia Scott; great grandchildren, Triston, Trena, Olivia, Brody, Jesse, Eli Easton, Korrynn, Khristian, Kohen, Kross, Kingdom, Kalaiah, Bracee, Breanna, Baylee, Bella, Neveah, Oakley, Axl, Emberly; great great grandchildren, Zayden and Layah. Additionally, she survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents Enoch and Florene Dow; brothers Roy Dow, Thomas Dow, and Charles Dow; sisters Clara Bullard, Charlotte Dow, and Margaret Dow; son, Ricky Potter; daughter, Sheryl Potter; daughter, Kimmy Jo Potter; son, Gary Reece; son, Davey Reece; granddaughter, Ricci Jo Bonner; grandson Billy Simmons.
