<p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Gary B. Dinkel, 65, passed away on October 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on March 7, 1956 to James and Virginia (Littrell) Dinkel.&nbsp; His parents along with a brother, Paul Dinkel, preceded him in death. &nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Gary was a 1974 graduate of Speedway High School and earned a B.S. Degree in Forestry from Purdue University. He retired in 2016 from the United States Forest Service where he worked over 30 years; his last position was Ecosystem Program Manager for the Hoosier National Forest.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Gary married Laurie Schroeder on July 28, 1984 at the Nebraska National Forest in Halsey, Nebraska. They were married for 37 years.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He was a member of the Society of American Foresters, Tell City First United Methodist Church, the National Wildlife Turkey Federation, was an Eagle Scout and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Surviving is his wife, Laurie Dinkel, Tell City; children, Jennifer Dinkel, Tell City and Jacob Dinkel, Indianapolis; a sister, Beverly Popham (Wayne), Louisville, Kentucky and brother, David Dinkel (Ale), Healdsburg, California.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Tell City First United Methodist Church, located at 702 10th Street, Tell City.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time at the church.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Day Foundation, National Wild Turkey Federation or Tell City First United Methodist Church&rsquo;s Stained Glass Window Fund. &nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, has assisted Gary&rsquo;s family with his arrangements.&nbsp;</strong></span></p>

Obituary

Gary B. Dinkel, 65, passed away on October 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on March 7, 1956 to James and Virginia (Littrell) Dinkel.  His parents along with a brother, Paul Dinkel, preceded him in death.
