LaFanette Soles-Woods

LaFanette Soles-Woods was born July 22, 1958, in Pensacola, Florida. She was the first of two (2) children born to Julius (Deceased) and Aserdean Soles. She was educated in the Escambia County School system and graduated from W.J. Woodham High School in 1975 (early graduation) and returned in 1976 to march with her graduating class. She graduated from Pensacola Jr. College (a/k/a Pensacola State College) and attended Bethune Cookman College (a/k/a Bethune Cookman University) before enlisting in the United States Air Force. LaFanette served twenty (20) years before honorably retiring due to medical issues. She battled breast cancer, heart issues and fought fiercely for the Wedgewood community on issues relating to the environmental defects in that area. She was a divorced mother of two adult children, Seleka Soles & Zachary Woods and a big sister/best friend to Salandrae Soles. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to Joe Morris & Son Funeral Home, 701 North De Villiers, Pensacola, Florida 32501. Viewing, October 7, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Family Hour from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Funeral October 8, 2021, 8:00 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida 32505; Full military burial at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
