Bertha Bruno Obituary

Bertha Bruno, the fifth of 12 children, was born in Upland, CA (San Bernardino County) on July 31, 1936, given the birth name, Bertha Arenas. After living 2 years in Upland, her family then moved to Los Angeles, CA (Los Angeles County). For the next 83 years, Bertha grew up and lived in Los Angeles County. On April 28, 1956, she married Armando Bruno, a native of Los Angeles, at the age of 20 years at Sacred Heart Parish in Los Angeles. Bertha departed her earthly life on September 28, 2021. She was the beloved mother of five children, a parishioner of Saint Luke's Catholic Church in Temple City, CA. Of special note, Bertha's great-uncle was Saint Mateo Correa Magallanes, a parish priest who died on February 6, 1927, in Durango, Mexico, for the Faith during the Mexican government's persecution against the Catholic Church, and who was canonized on May 21, 2000, in Rome by Pope John Paul II.
