Albert "Al" Sullivan, age 78, longtime resident of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Mangum Skilled Nursing Center in Mangum, OK.

Albert was born on October 23, 1942 to Homer and Nellie (Marble) Sullivan in Hollis, OK. In 1944, they moved to the Friendship community where he attended school until 1952. With the passing of his father, his mother moved him and his siblings to Blair, where he finished his education in 1960.

Albert and Marilyn (Pankhurst) Sullivan were united in marriage on February 6, 1993 in Blair, OK. The marriage spanned 28 years until his passing. Al started working at a very early age to help his mother and siblings. He worked at grocery stores in Blair and delivered newspapers. After graduating, he went to work at South Main United in Altus, OK, then moved to Bunker Hill United. After moving to Enid, OK, he worked for Southgate United.

In 1969, he moved back to the Friendship area and started working for the Keebler Cookies and Cracker Company, retiring after 32 years.
After retiring from Keebler, he worked for the Oklahoma Boll Weevil Eradication Organization, bought a self-employed vending route, and helped his wife at her flower shop delivering flowers until 2011 when his health prevented him from continuing.

Al was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blair, where he served on several committees. He was also a Blair city councilman. Al had several hobbies including riding motorcycles, farming, attending trail rides, spending time with family and friends, especially, going to Melvin Tutten's to catch up on all the gossip!

Al is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Nellie Sullivan; two brothers: Edwin Sprabary and Jack Sullivan; and two sisters: Faye Pollard and Mary Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; his sons, Greg Scarbrough and wife Chastity, of Arkansas; John Bryce and his wife, Dawn, of Florida; four daughters: Anita Gossett and husband, Steve, of Virginia; Delona Bryce of Blair, Ok; Terri Fernandez and husband, Carlos, of Texas; and Emmalee Sullivan of the home. one sister: Dana Booker of Altus, OK; 12 grandchildren: Zeth Pankhurst; Wesley Miller; Haley Bryce and fiance' Nathan Gifford; Walker Deroon; Justin Bryce; Jessica Glover; Jason Bryce; Lexie Fernandez; Keagan Fernandez; Dalyn Fernandez; Raydan Fernandez; two great-grandchildren: Emmett Glover an Cash Gifford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday evening, October 8, 2021 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Bill David Walker officiating.

Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.

Memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
