Oma Lea Smith

<p>Oma Lea Smith, nee Green, of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 5 days. She was born May 27, 1936 in Davisville, Missouri to John Edward Green and Mabel Fannie Brown Green.</p> <p>Oma Lea was united in marriage to Paul Theodore Smith on June 12, 1954 in Steelville and to this union two sons and two daughters were born.</p> <p>Oma Lea attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. She was employed for many years at Brown Shoe Company. She enjoyed baking delicious desserts for her family, going to yard sales, collecting cook books, doves and angels and going to the beach and collecting sea shells when she had the chance. Her family were very important to her and she loved knowing what was going on in their lives.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Smith; her parents, John and Mabel Green; son-in-law, Doyle Neff; &nbsp;brothers, infant, Charles Green, John (Shirley) Green, Jr., Kenneth (Doris Green Wilkinson) Green and Jimmie Green;&nbsp; and sister, infant, Linda Louise Green; sisters-in-law, Mary Green and Margie Smith; brothers-in-law, Glen Martin, Leroy Tidwell and Kenneth (Roselean) Smith.</p> <p>She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Mike Smith of Steelville, MO and Steve Smith of Cherryville, MO; two daughters, Rita (Dave) Chambers of Ozark, MO and Jeanne (Kevin) Smith of Steelville, MO; five grandchildren, Christian (Erica) Neff ,Timothy Neff, Crystal (Quentin) Klaas, Ashlee (Brandon) Bennett and Matt (Amanda) Smith; &nbsp;eleven great-grandchildren, Libby, Sophia, Sydney, David, Mikayla, Quinn, Cale, Caroline, Abigail, Landry and Griffin; brothers, Curt Green of St. Charles, MO, Harold (Linda) Green of Cherryville, MO and Joe (Glenda) Green of Davisville, MO; sisters, Marie Martin and Barbara (Fred) Mertz all of Cherryville, MO; other relatives; and friends.</p> <p>The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.</p> <p>Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating. Special music of Heaven Medley Songs, &quot;He Loved me like I was His only child&quot; and &quot;Look for Me&quot; were sung by Bob and Carol Coleman with Shirley Brown accompanying on piano. Memories written by her son Steve Smith were shared by granddaughter, Ashlee Bennett,</p> <p>Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery.</p> <p>Honored to be casket bearers were Matt Smith, Kevin Green, Brandon Bennett, Quentin Klaas, Christian Neff and Dave Chambers.</p> <p>The Smith Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.</p>
