Charles Robert Rambo

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, officer: COL Charles (Chuck) Rambo, 51, Director of the Army Credentialing and Continuing Education Services for Soldiers, passed away September 25, 2021 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Chuck was born August 23, 1970 at Fort Campbell, KY to Charles Roscoe and Helen Joan Rambo. In 1975, the Rambo Family moved to Indian Harbor Beach, FL where Chuck attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and Satellite High School excelling in baseball. In 1994, he graduated East Tennessee State University where he played baseball and participated in ROTC, commissioning into the Aviation Branch. His assignments included Republic of Korea; Fort Drum, NY; Fort Campbell, KY; Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Fort Irwin, CA; Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA; three tours in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; Washington DC; Air War College in Montgomery, AL; and settling in Fort Leavenworth, KS.

On May 29, 2004 Chuck married "the girl that just wouldn’t leave him alone" and they would build the empire known as "The Rambo Team." Chuck was a highly decorated combat veteran but his most meaningful awards were his children. After years of not being able to be involved in their sports, he was finally in a place where he could devote his time to his children and the sport he most loved, baseball. Chuck jumped in as head coach of Henry’s team and with his love, knowledge, choice words, and coaching philosophy, the team became the team to beat and won the most championships ever in the program. After 28 years of dedicated Army service, he was one year away from retirement. Chuck planned to take a long west coast RV adventure and wanted to start his own baseball academy. He

made everyone he met feel like they were his best friend. He was the master of stories and dad jokes. He cried watching movies and his laughter filled every room. He genuinely cared about all and gave all. He loved God, his family, his country, baseball, and a good bourbon.

Left to grieve and continue his legacy are his wife, Janel Rambo; his sons, Charlie, Henry, Oliver, Elliot, and Samuel; his foster daughter, Faith; his siblings, Kevin, Karen (Tom), and Kelly, and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, October 11, 2021 at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the rosary to be said at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
