Charles Matthew "Matt" Goldbach Obituary

Charles Matthew “Matt” Goldbach, 46, of Salina, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at home. He was born August 21, 1975 in Evansville, IN to Charles and JoAnn (Wildt) Goldbach. Matt was a graduate of PCHS Class of 1993 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from USI. He proudly served in the United States Army including a tour in Iraq. He had resided in Kansas for the past 3 ½ years and was a stay-at-home Dad caring for his 4 sons. Matt loved to play the guitar and create his own songs. He enjoyed all music, meeting new people, and loved all outside activities, especially riding dirt bikes with his sons.

Matt is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary (Renslow) Goldbach of Salina, Kansas; 4 sons, Charles Ryan, Nathan, Johnny and Freddy Goldbach, all at home; his parents, Charles and JoAnn of Evansville; 3 sisters, Margaret Dunnigan (Mike) of New Albany, IN, Kathy Wilderman (Rick) of Haubstadt and Libby Decker (Chad) of Evansville; and 2 brothers, Mike Goldbach (Jackie) and Kenny Goldbach (Robin) both of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeffrey Goldbach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Fr. Gary Kaiser celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside services will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 4th at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.

Anyone wishing to honor Matt’s memory may make a donation to his wife, Mary for his children’s college fund.
