Antonio J. Giron, 39, of Accident, MD, better known as “Tony”, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD, after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year.
Born January 15, 1982, in Meyersdale, PA, he was the son of Pedro and Evalena (Yoder) Giron.
Tony was a 2000 graduate of Northern High School and a member of the Cherry Glade Mennonite Church. He worked most of his life in restaurants and spent the last few years doing property maintenance at Deep Creek Lake. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Tony was a thrill seeker and an adventurer. He is off on his next big adventure.
He had a wonderful knack for craftsmanship, problem solving, and making amazing visions come to life. Tony truly lived to the fullest through simple pleasurers. He loved his family and friends deeply and went beyond to show them that every day. Tony had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lori (Bodes) Giron, whom he married on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii, on May 4, 2007; two sons, Maximo (age 9) and Armando (age 4); two sisters, Maria (Robby) Preswood and Angelica (Chad) Spickler; mother-in-law, Patricia Bodes; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Jenni) Bodes and Heath (Dawn) Bodes; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family, friends and others whose lives Tony touched will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy., Accident, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. No viewings or services planned for Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted in the Cherry Glade Mennonite Church on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Titus Beitzel officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cherry Glade Cemetery.
