Dennis Ray Schutt Obituary

Dennis Ray Schutt was born on February 22, 1947 in Lusk, Wyoming to Verner Herman Otto Schutt and Grace Bake (Freeman) Schutt.  Dennis entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 24, 2021 at his home in New Market, Iowa.  There are no services planned at this time.

Dennis spent his childhood growing up in Lusk, Wyoming; Wichita, Kansas; Craig, Missouri; spending summers in Conway Springs, Kansas.  He attended school in Craig, Missouri graduating with the class of 1966.  He spent his teenage years as a farmhand.

On October 18, 1968 Dennis married his wife of 52 years Kristine in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Following their marriage, they lived in Kansas City, Kansas; finally settling in New Market, Iowa.  To this union three children were born, daughters Elayne and Stephanie; and son Vern.

Dennis worked for Woods Industry, briefly and then the Union Pacific Railroad for over 23 years.  He then began working at the state of Missouri Department of Corrections for several years retiring in 2010.

He enjoyed hunting pheasant, coon, quail, deer and fishing.  He also enjoy hunting for mushrooms.  ANYTHING OUTSIDE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his step-father. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kristine of New Market, Iowa; daughters, Elayne Kemery of Earlham, Iowa, Stephanie Robinson of Shenandoah, Iowa; son Vern Schutt of Jay, Oklahoma; brothers Bill Freeman of Cassville, Missouri, Rick Freeman of Mound City, Missouri; sister Cathy Altena of Mound City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and one greatgrandchild; many cousins, nieces, nephews and many more family and friends.
