Jimmy Allen Hartley of Hebron, NE the son of Harold and Lillian (Marolf) Hartley was born May 3, 1937 in Hebron, NE. He departed this life Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his residence in Hebron, NE at the age of 84 years.

 

Jim grew up on a farm south of Hebron attending school and graduating from Hebron High School with the class of 1955. After graduation he enlisted in the United States National Guard and served from 1956 to 1964.

 

Jim married Carol Townsend on September 26, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in McCool Junction, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three sons.

 

He spent his life on the farm enjoying God’s great creation, farming, raising cattle, milking cows, chickens and selling eggs.

 

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, he taught his sons gun safety and taught them to hunt and fish. He like playing games and teaching his grandchildren to follow the rules. Being around family and friends was important to Jim especially the grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Wilma Engle and husband Don, granddaughter Taylor Hartley and great-grandson Hunter Hallgren.

 

He is survived by his wife Carol Hartley of Hebron, three sons; Tim Hartley and wife Wendy of Hebron, Brian Hartley and wife Yvonne of Lincoln, NE, and David Hartley of Hebron, brother Merle Hartley of Hebron, grandchildren; Glenna Hoefs of Holbrook, NE, Heather Trumble and husband Kyle of Cambridge, NE, Devon Hartley and wife Brittney of Hebron, Amber Brunow and husband Trevor of Hebron, Trevor, Krista, and Kara Hartley all of Hebron, Carina and Sandra Hartley of Lincoln, NE, great-grandchildren; Noah Hoefs, Lincoln Hoefs, Blakely Hartley, Cooper Trumble, Timbur Trumble, and Cloe Brunow, nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Hebron, NE at 2PM. Officiant will be Pastor Brian Faust, visitation will be Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron, NE from 2-6 PM. Organist Deb Craig, congregational hymn “In The Garden”, recorded selections “Hole In The Floor Of Heaven” and “If You Get There Before I Do”. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com.
