Helen L. Clanton, 88, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, in Wichita, Kansas at the Meridian Rehabilitation Care Center.

Services will be Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Helen Louise (Elliott) Clanton was born September 10, 1933, in Neodesha, Kansas the daughter of Clarence G. and Alta May (Benson) Elliott. Helen worked most of her life in the restaurants at Polly's Cafe in Rocky Ferol, Colorado and Beulah's café in Neodesha. Helen married James Leon Clanton on August 23, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Helen loved country music and would go to Mound Valley, Kansas to hear James Leon play his guitar. She enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions and loved convertible cars. She was a caring and giving person always helping people with their needs.

Helen is survived by one son: James Dean Clanton of Newton, KS; granddaughters, Crystal and Kelly Clanton; daughter in law Betty Clanton of La Junta, CO; and several nephews and nieces.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, James Leon Clanton; her father and mother, Clarence G. and Alta May Elliott; daughter, Janet Clanton, 3 sisters Mary Ann Hallbauer, Beulah Hallbauer, and Betty Raida, 3 brothers, Carl E. Elliot, Louis L. Elliott, and William (Bill) Charles Elliott.
