C’est avec regret que nous annonçons le décès de Jean-Yves Fortin, décédé paisiblement à l’hôpital de Shawville, Québec samedi le 25 septembre 2021 à l’âge de 75 ans. Fils de feu Gérard Fortin et de feu Alberta Breton. Époux bien aimé de Lorraine Vaillancourt. Cher père de Michel (Annie LaSalle) et Danielle (Martin Lévesque). Grand-papa adoré de Mélanie (Jordan), Jérémy, Maxime, Amélie, Deven, Hunter et Mackayla. Il laisse aussi 3 arrière-petits-enfants ; James, Ryder et Alison. Frère bien aimé de Gaétan (Cécile Tawell), Nicole (Claude Gourde), Thérèse (Bertrand Bisson), France et Brigitte (Simon Audet). Jean-Yves sera manqué par ses belles-soeurs; feu Elaine (Carol Dufault), Myrna (René Ferland) et Anne (feu Almonzor Boisvert) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée vendredi le 1 octobre 2021 à l’église St-Pierre, Fort-Coulonge, Québec à 11h. Inhumation au cimetière Ste-Kateri, Mansfield, Québec. Des dons à la fondation de l’hôpital du Pontiac ou à la fondation du CLSC seraient grandement appréciés.

It is with regret that we announce the death of Jean-Yves Fortin who passed away peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec at the age of 75 years old. Son of the late Gérard Fortin and of the late Alberta Breton. Loving husband of Lorraine Vaillancourt. Dear father of Michel (Annie LaSalle) and Danielle (Martin Lévesque). Adored grandfather of Mélanie (Jordan), Jérémy, Maxime, Amélie, Deven, Hunter and Mackayla. He leaves to mourn 3 great grandchildren James, Ryder and Alison. Loving brother of Gaétan (Cécile Tawell), Nicole (Claude Gourde), Thérèse (Bertrand Bisson), France and Brigitte (Simon Audet). Jean-Yves will be missed by his sisters-in-law’s late Elaine (Carol Dufault), Myrna (René Ferland) and Anne (late Almonzor Boisvert) as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 1, 2021 in St-Pierre Church, Fort-Coulonge, Quebec at 11 a.m. Interment Ste-Kateri Cemetery, Mansfield, Quebec. Donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation or the CLSC Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
