<p><strong>Barry B. Lee, 72, of Pawnee City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Columbus, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was born on November&nbsp;11, 1948 to Goodson and Betty (Bennett) Lee in Columbus, Nebraska.&nbsp; Barry grew up in Columbus&nbsp;and later&nbsp;moved to Bellevue and graduated from Bellevue East High School with the&nbsp;class of 1967.&nbsp; </strong></p> <p><strong>He married the love of his life Karen Kerr.&nbsp; To this union two daughters were born Michelle and Tracy.&nbsp; They lived in Perry, Iowa and he&nbsp;worked for the Old Milwaukee Railroad.&nbsp; Karen battled many illnesses and he took care of her, she was the center of his world.&nbsp; Karen&nbsp;passed away in 1987. &nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Barry devoted the rest of his life to his daughters and was the best dad and grandpa. He retired early to enjoy the simple life in Pawnee City. He loved to golf, camp, fish, travel and sit with close friends by the campfire in the great outdoors. He also had a great love of Nebraska Football. </strong></p> <p><strong>Barry was able to enjoy his family and the simple things in life, while waiting to reunite with Karen.</strong></p> <p><strong>Together again at last.</strong></p> <p><strong>Barry is survived by his daughters Michelle (Tom) Van Soelen, Tracy (Ed) Fletcher, Mother Betty Bicking, brothers Jim (Sharon), Ron, Lee (Sandy), grandchildren Kailyn, Maisy, Matthew, Audrey, Olivia and many nieces, nephews and good friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>He was preceded in death by his father Goodson and wife Karen.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>A Celebration of Life&nbsp;for Barry will be held&nbsp;on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Golf Course Club House,&nbsp;1700 D Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Dress casual and wear your Husker Red.&nbsp; Come and share memories of Barry with his family.</strong></p> <p><strong>Memorials in lieu of flowers to the family&#39;s choice for a later designation.</strong></p> <p><strong>Inurnment will be at a later date.&nbsp; Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Services entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.</strong></p>

I am Linda Hunter(Huisman) first cousin of Barry on his mother's side. I live in CA so will not be there in person but will be there in spirit. Have wonderful memories of all the Lee boys while growing up. Last saw Barry at my Dad's funeral in 2004. Love to all🙏
