Robert Emmett Cooney

Robert Emmett Cooney, III passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Carlee Nunes Cooney, loving father of the late Karen Cooney Duncan (Brooke), Kathleen Cooney, Mary Cooney Redwood (Dan), and Robert Emmett Cooney, IV (Holly). Son of the late Hilda Maloney Cooney and Robert Emmett Cooney, Jr. He was the proud grandfather of Brooke Duncan, Jack Duncan, Brian Trascher, Ashley Schexnaildre,  Hendrik Vanderwall, Emily Redwood, Molly Redwood, Danny Redwood,  Joey Cooney, Charlie Cooney, Maddie Cooney, and loving great-grandfather of Will Schexnaildre, James Schexnaildre, and Vivi Trascher. Robert worked as an engineer in sales at Bingham Int’l for 40 years, was a proud alumni of Jesuit High School class of 1946 and attended Loyola University of New Orleans. He was a consummate storyteller and the epitome of a life well-lived. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 am at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. in New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Masks are required.
