Mrs. Virginia Ann "Squilly" Grier Bradshaw

Mrs. Virginia Ann Bradshaw was born on August 13, 1947 in McDuffie County, Georgia. She departed this life on September 25, 2021 at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA. Virginia was born to two loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Grier, Sr. Her parents maintained a loving and Christian home filled with joy and laughter. It is during her childhood that Virginia honed her skills as both an expert baker and cook. In 1969, Virginia met the man who would be the love of her life at the Thomson Company. That meeting blossomed into fifty-two years of love. On July 10, 1971, Virginia and Larry were married. Their union would last for the next fifty years with her beloved husband Larry, who affectionately calls her “Squilly.” From that union, two daughters were born, Taneka and Tawani. For over twenty years, Virginia was a faithful member of New Life in Christ Holy House of Prayer where she served the Lord with perfection in her heart. Away from her church home, Virginia was a proud cook, baker, and self-taught seamstress. Her delicious key-lime pies and cakes had a reputation across the state that no one could turn down. In 2017, she was diagnosed with cancer and she fought to the very end. Virginia had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She touched and inspired the lives of many who knew her and knew of her through others. Virginia had a giving nature and was always looking out for others. Virginia was preceded in death by her dear parents, Rufus Grier Sr. and Mary L. Grier, and two sisters, Barbara A. Grier and Joy Grier. Virginia leaves behind to forever cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Larry Bradshaw; two daughters, Taneka Thompson (Lindsay) of East Hartford, CT and Tawani Bradshaw (Nard) of Hampton, GA; two grandchildren, Jatavion Belton of El Paso, TX and Jaidyn Wright of Hampton, GA; one great granddaughter, Ryleigh of El Paso, TX; one bonus granddaughter, Infiniti Wilson (Brandon) and three bonus great grandchildren, Aiden, Avery and Alexandria, all of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Julia Roberts (Thomas), Robbie McGahee, all of Dearing, GA and Delois Young (Arthur) of Charlotte, NC; five brothers, Rufus Grier Jr., Horace Grier, Norman Grier, all of Dearing, GA, Rodney Grier (Lela) and Solomon Grier (Altear), all of Thomson, GA; three sisters in law, Dianne Ivins of McDonough, GA, Linda Jacobs of Columbus, GA, Glenda Johnson (Jesse), all of Thomson, GA; four brothers in law, James Bradshaw (Mary) of Augusta, GA, Felton Bradshaw (Cora), Roger Bradshaw (Clara), all of Thomson, GA and Billy Bradshaw (Birtha) of Irmo, SC; special extended family members, Craig Bailey, Amy Bailey and their children, Campbell, Peach, Lex, Maddie, Samuel, Teal and Jake and Mrs. Wynelle Ruehle, all of Thomson, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
