Gretchen Lamm Hayes passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Gretchen was 90 years old. The daughter of the late George Ernest and Elsie Winstead Lamm, Gretchen was born on March 21, 1931, in Spring Hope, North Carolina. She was an active member of the Eastern Star in Denver, Colorado, and was of the Baptist faith. Gretchen enjoyed many crafts, including sewing, quilting, and card making. She was also passionate about traveling and loved to visit new places. Gretchen was known by many and will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Hayes, Jr. and daughter, Dana Georgana Hackney. Gretchen is survived by her children, Dawn M. Harden (Tom) of Warner Robins; and David A. Hayes (Sherri) of Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren, Douglas P. Harden (Stephanie); April Lynn Clark (Nick); Lynsie M. Krier (Eric); Jenna Leigh Hayes (Natalie); Shane M. Hackney; and Shelby G. Hackney; great grandchildren; Hannah and Luke Harden, and Jadyn and Jackson Krier; as well as former son-in-law, Marty Hackney. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating. Gretchen’s burial will be private. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Gretchen Lamm Hayes to the Christian Service Center at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 South Davis Drive, Suite 300, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
